Oh, the music, the laughter, the movies, the FOOD, the fellowship, the hope of Christmas! Oh, the horns honking, the griping, the movies, the heartburn, the kids fighting, the frustrations of Christmas!
During the Christmas season, we all encounter situations that give us choices: Do we laugh at the failed Christmas cookies and try again? or Throw them away, never to make cookies again?
As we live through more Christmases, we are filled with memories, laugh-filled, some with a touch of sorrow, times of gratitude for the Savior who came on Christmas with love for all. Tears fill our eyes as we look around the Christmas table, joy at those with us, and missing those who will be at the heavenly table.
We need to plan to have times of joy and silliness, solemnity of the season and the gratitude for a full table and plenty of food. If you've lost a loved one, be prepared to shed a tear or two as favorite ornaments or decorations bring back the memories and lead to us making new ones.
You will go through this season. It will be your choice: Joyful Christmas or Grinchy!
I choose JOYFUL!
